Before you buy something online visit RetailMeNot to see if you can save money with a discount coupon code. Sure there are other Web sites offering masses of coupons yet this new community-oriented coupon site offers us consumers more value. Here’s how.
Because the founders choose to make no money on a majority of the coupons offered on the site, they attract more coupon providers than their competitors. Also affiliates do not have to pay to upload coupons. Plus this appears to be the first coupon site to use social media tools to build an online community. That means you can “tag” your finds, compare, comment and vote on what you find. So you don’t miss bargains on the products you are viewing on any site, get a Firefox add-on to be notified when that merchant provides coupons at RetailMeNot. Get automatic coupon updates on your Mac OS X. Or get your coupons on your iPhone.
I don’t like to shop, yet many of you do. Founder, Guy King believes this consumer-centered approach will motivate you ardent shoppers to stay engaged with each other on the site.
Consequently they are fast becoming the top-of-mind choice for us consumers and for coupon providers. That makes this self-funded, three-man start-up a game-changer for bargain hunters. People are flocking to it and so are coupon providers. Currently you’ll find over 71,000 coupons from 13,000 merchants, with several hundred new coupons being added daily, plus, around 400 new comments and over 9,000 votes. Now, what if Yahoo! Shopping jumped in to emulate this Me2We-style business model?
I have used Retail Me Not before and does seem to always a nice selection of coupons. I also check a couple other site when shopping online:
http://www.couponcabin.com
and
http://www.rather-be-shopping.com
Hi Kare, thanks for pointing out this resource.
It prompted me to think of something: the small biz community needs a site like this just for B2B discounts and offers. Would be nice, huh?
Happy Easter or spring!

What a smart idea: take this business model to your niche market, perhaps SmartPartnering with Retail Me Not.
Guy King has the structure and savvy in this sector and you and the knowledge about what they would want to buy and the reputation and constituency in this niche. I would use it, knowing you were leading or co-leading the business.
FYI, I am interviewing him later in April for a podcast to post in early May.
Retailmenot looks nice, but the webbyplanet website looks great, and coupon work better.
Louise and Andy
